Kasper the Friendly Ghosts originated in the bars and dance venues in Lakewood and Rocky River. Their diverse collection of early jazz and influenced by New Orleans, Dixieland and soul and funk, bring a unique flavor of jazz to the table. A heartfelt, foot taping good time for any age! Bandleader Davey “Gravy” Kasper, woodwinds (Saxophones, Clarinets, Flutes and EWI), has been privileged to play with the Temptations, Al Martino, Guy Lombardo, Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra (Playing the role of “Jimmy Dorsey), Tito Puente Jr., Either Orchestra and has opened up for Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Pancho Sanchez and Tony Bennett.
Kasper grew up in the suburbs of Cleveland and received his degree in music from Cleveland State University in the summer of 2006.
Active on the local music scene, Kasper enjoys teaching saxophone, clarinet and flute in Downtown Cleveland and the Suburbs. A journey man musician since his early teens, Kasper is involved playing with many groups in town regularly including: Revolution Brass Band, Velvet Voyage, Shout, Ernie Krivda and the Fat Tuesday Big Band, Dan Zola Orchestra, Eddie Brunswick and the Hot Rod Lincoln’s and several creative projects.
