This week’s headliner will be none other than Ohio’s own, comedienne Juanda Mayfield!
Juanda grew up on the east side of Cleveland, cutting her comedy teeth early on by impersonating members of her church family. Juanda soon learned she had a knack for making people laugh and keeping them entertained. She won the Ohio’s Funniest Comedian contest at The Funny Stop Comedy Club and it was sunshine and giggles from then on. She continued her success by winning several other comedy contests. She’s had audiences busting a gut in almost every small town and hamlet in Ohio. From the bright lights of Akron to the steamy nights of Zanesville, no club or bar has been left unturnedout. She also loves playing in clubs and colleges across the country, because it gives her a chance to coupon (her second love).
It is nearly impossible to contain your laughter once you experience Juanda’s witty perspective on food, fat, children and relationships just to name a few. Hold on tight and ride the wave of Juanda Mayfield’s rise through the comedy ranks as one of the country’s funniest comedians. This is one performance you won’t want to miss!
Eric Brewer is a funny guy who also happens to bear a striking resemblance to actor Bradley Cooper. Brewer uses that similarity to his advantage in a charming and self-deprecating way that lets the audience know that looking like a movie star can go from charming to alarming in a hot minute. Brewer has been performing stand up comedy locally for about five years, and is committed to the Akron comedy scene. “I’m happy here, and I really enjoy being in a mentoring position for some of the younger comics. I don’t want to leave Akron for a bigger stage, until the Akron comedy scene is thriving. I want to leave knowing that I built something special in my hometown.”
Born and raised in Canton, Ohio, Willis Gordon is not only a stand up comic and all around entertainer, but also an Acclaimed Author, Powerful Essayist, Controversial Columnist, Master Orator, Multi-instrumentalist, Singer, Boxer, and Veteran of the War on Terror. His work captures the essence of the classics while still maintaining a timelessly fresh and biting quality in his work. A man who will go wherever there’s an audience, Gordon has performed all over the country in many different mediums and incarnations, yet always remaining unmistakably “Willis.”
Adam Richard is a comic from Cleveland, OH. Litter bugs bum him out and he thinks Ticonderoga pencils are the premiere pencil due to their wonderful eraser. He has been described as a gentle kisser, theatrical, and an overall solid guy to have around.
Adam has shared the stage with the likes of Rory Scovel, Jim Tews, The Lucas Bros, Mike Polk Jr, and Bill Squire. A regular in the Cleveland comedy scene, Adam can be seen performing on numerous Chucklefck shows (including SUPERSHOW! which he now co-hosts with Zachariah Durr). Past performances include appearances at Hilarities, Cleveland Public Theater’s Pandemonium!,
Ingenuity Fest (where he was selected as one of “Best of Fest” comics), The Creek and the Cave in NYC, the Shadowbox Theater in Columbus, and numerous open mics.
Adam often reflects on these memories late at night while sitting in a rocking chair with a warm cup of milk and looking through his scrapbook. With an insatiable hunger to perform and write, Adam looks forward to filling up his scrapbook with more comedy related memories so that he has an excuse to maintain his hobby of scrapbooking and drinking warm cups of milk.
