Each Saturday night at 11:30PM, we turn NE Ohio’s premier live jazz venue into the best comedy club around for our brand-new late night comedy series, “Cure for the BLU’s!” This week’s show includes hosts Eric Brewer & Willis Gordon and headliner, Jeff Blanchard!
 
A seasoned stand-up comedian, Jeff Blanchard has over 20 years of experience and has headlined clubs and colleges all over the country, including Jamaica. His show has been called dynamic, opinionated, and irascible. Jeff has been called “…one of the funniest men in Cleveland,” “an opinionated slob,” and “a pure entertainer.”
 
Jeff is a veteran of radio and television commercials and industrial films. He’s the voice for everything from supermarkets to every sports team in Cleveland. Jeff was most recently heard on the radio as the co-host of “The Jeff & Scott Show” on 98.5 FM WNCX.
 
The difference with Jeff is his show always has something new. His improvisational training keeps his act stocked with the everyday fascinating, infuriating and down right annoying characters and situations you find in all walks of life. No matter what the make up of the audience; young, old, black or white, people respond every time Jeff is on stage. Whether they laugh, cheer or applaud, they like the way Jeff thinks.

Born and raised in Canton, Ohio, Willis Gordon is not only a stand up comic and all around entertainer, but also an Acclaimed Author, Powerful Essayist, Controversial Columnist, Master Orator, Multi-instrumentalist, Singer, Boxer, and Veteran of the War on Terror. His work captures the essence of the classics while still maintaining a timelessly fresh and biting quality in his work. A man who will go wherever there’s an audience, Gordon has performed all over the country in many different mediums and incarnations, yet always remaining unmistakably “Willis.”
 

About Eric Brewer

Eric Brewer is a funny guy who also happens to bear a striking resemblance to actor Bradley Cooper. Brewer uses that similarity to his advantage in a charming and self-deprecating way that lets the audience know that looking like a movie star can go from charming to alarming in a hot minute. Brewer has been performing stand up comedy locally for about five years, and is committed to the Akron comedy scene. “I’m happy here, and I really enjoy being in a mentoring position for some of the younger comics. I don’t want to leave Akron for a bigger stage, until the Akron comedy scene is thriving. I want to leave knowing that I built something special in my hometown.”
