“Tri-C JazzFest Day in Akron” w/ Gerald Clayton Trio

April 16, 2015

As part of our month long celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month, BLU Jazz+ teamed up with Tri-C JazzFest Cleveland to present our first ever “Tri-C JazzFest Day in Akron.”

The Cuyahoga Falls High School jazz ensembles were invited to BLU to participate in a day-long series of workshops & masterclasses with Artist-in-Residence, master pianist & composer, Gerald Clayton & his trio through a grant from the Knight Foundation.

We also featured the exciting “Next Generation Jazz Ensemble” from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA – under the direction of multi GRAMMY-winning musician, Terri Lyne Carrington.

It was a highly musical evening and we look forward to working with Tri-C JazzFest Cleveland again in the future to present more exciting jazz programming together! ‪#‎akronjazz‬ ‪#‎tricjazzfest‬ ‪#‎jazzisback‬

(Special thanks to our photographer, Cindy Nichols Photography, for the wonderful images she captured – as well as our friends at Yamaha Corporation of America & Classic Pianos Cleveland for providing the beautiful, brand-new Yamaha CF4 concert grand piano for the event!)
