Cliff Habian (pianist, composer and arranger), a Cleveland native, has worked with such greats as Joe Lovano, Freddie Cole, Frank Morgan, Jane Ira Bloom, Bobby Vinton, Dion and many others. He has appeared on “Good Morning America” and opened for jazz legends Mel Lewis and Dave Brubeck. He has performed for many celebrities from Wil Chamberlain to Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, to Larry King.

His two landmark recordings, “Tonal Paintings” and “Manhattan Bridge” were released internationally on Milestone Records to great acclaim. Two recordings “Havana Sunset” and “Originals” were on the Azica Record label. He has released 10 albums to date.

The great Los Angeles Times jazz critic, Leonard Feather said in a CD review: “Cleveland has an engaging eclectic in Habian, everything switches around from cut to cut: the size of the band, the genre of the music, the source of Habian’s inspiration.”

Since that review, Cliff has remained true to those words.

“Third Stream” is comprised of Cliff Habian on piano, John Stebal on drums and Christopher Vance on bass. “Third Stream” is a term coined by Gunther Schuller which describes a synthesis of classical music and jazz . “This highly innovative trio performs selections ranging from Brubeck and Shostakovich to Steely Dan and Chick Corea!”
