Houston Person

December 11, 2015

Our three-day long celebration of Frank Sinatra’s centennial year continued with legendary tenor saxophonist, Houston Person, who swung soulfully & straight ahead into Akron for his BLU debut! Featuring Joe Hunter, Peter Dominguez, Glenn Davis. Co-presented by Steinway Piano Gallery Cleveland.

Houston has recorded with Charles Brown, Bill Charlap, Charles Earland, Lena Horne, Lou Rawls, Horace Silver, Dakota Staton, Billy Butler, Joey DeFrancesco, Grant Green, and many others.

A passionate tenor saxophonist, alternately tough and tender, Person is today’s leading instrumentalist in the tradition Gene Ammons and Stanley Turrentine made so popular during their careers.
