  • Where is BLU Jazz+ located?
  • Easily accessible via Route 8, I-77, & I-76 with on-street, deck, and valet parking services available, BLU Jazz+ is located at 47 E. Market Street in Akron, OH.

     

  • What are your hours?
  • BLU Jazz+ opens its doors one (1) hour before showtime. Event start times vary, so please confirm this before heading to the venue!

     

  • Is there a dress code?
  • While there is no dress code per se, we suggest dressing at least business or smart casual. We like to think of ourselves as the kind of place that makes you want to dress up in style!

     

  • How do I purchase concert tickets?
  • Tickets are purchased through our website or at the door (based on availability). We always suggest purchasing your tickets in advance to guarantee admission. We hope to offer a pay-by-phone option in the near future, as well!

     

  • I bought a ticket for someone else, how do I get it to them?
  • When purchasing your tickets online, from the order review page – click on “My Tickets” and then click the “Send To” button. Easy!

     

  • Do you serve food & drinks?
  • Yes! We have a tasty selection of small plate offerings on the BLU menu, as well as a complete selection of signature cocktails, wines, beers, and spirits.

     

  • Is food available at the bar?
  • Yes! The full menu is available at the bar nightly (Wednesday-Saturday) until 10:30PM.

     

  • Is there an age restriction at your venue?
  • Table seating is all ages. The bar area is restricted to 21+.

     

  • Is there parking nearby?
  • Yes! On-street, deck, and valet parking services are available. For free, “speakeasy” access to our parking deck, please enter the lower level of the deck at 11 N. Main Street. Additionally, parking at the High/Market Parking Deck at 40 S. High Street (adjacent to the Akron-Summit County Public Library) is free after 6PM and on weekends.

     

  • What are my payment options?
  • Cash, American Express, VISA, MasterCard, or BLU Jazz+ Gift Cards (coming soon).

     

  • Is BLU Jazz+ available for private events?
  • Yes! We would love to host a private event for you at our venue. Please visit our Private Events page for more information and complete the contact form, telling us a bit about what you have in mind!

     

  • Can I take photographs at the show?
  • Our venue policy allows photos to be taken without the use of a flash. However, some of our artists do not allow photos to be taken at their shows. If there is a change in our venue policy, we will announce it before the start of the show. Please – no audio or video recording of any kind.

     

  • I’ve seen some tables marked as “Reserved.” How do I go about reserving a table?
  • Sometimes we will offer band guests, members of the press, large parties, and other VIPs to have reserved seats. Unless otherwise approached about a Reserved seating option, all of our shows are General Admission.

     

  • Can I avoid paying a service charge when purchasing a ticket?
  • Unless paying by cash the night of the show, a box office fee must be assessed in order to process credit card orders. The box office fee is nominal compared to other venues & ticketing services. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

     

  • Do you seat incomplete parties?
  • All seating is based on table availability, your arrival time, and on the number of people in your party. Please note that you may be sharing a table with other patrons. For the best chances of being seated together, please arrive with your complete party.

     

  • Is the club handicap accessible?
  • Yes, we provide handicap access to the venue. Enter the building via the parking deck entrance at 11 North Main Street. On the lower level of the deck, you will see a glass door and walkway to our handicap lift. Please call our hostess at (330) 252-1190 upon your arrival if you require additional assistance finding or using the handicap-accessible entry point.

     

  • Do you offer student discounts?
  • Yes, we offer a discounted admission of 25% off to high school & college students for nearly all of our shows! Student tickets must be purchased at the door (not available online) with a current, valid photo ID from your high school or college. Limit 1 student discount per person, limited availability on select shows.

     

  • What is a masterclass? Do I have to be a student to attend?
  • A masterclass is a special “front row” jazz education experience made possible through the BLU Jazz+ Masterclass Foundation. Through interacting with jazz students & fans alike, select visiting artists impart their wisdom in a wide array of topic areas including: melodic continuity, motivic development, harmonic resolution, chromaticism, practice & rehearsal techniques, and time – with the goal of achieving noticeable improvement in the area(s) covered. Masterclass artists also share highlights of their own performance careers and offer a Q&A (question & answer) session. Masterclasses are free & open to the public – you do not need to be a student in order to attend.
