Dominick Farinacci Quintet

July 10, 2015

Recently credited the title, “Global Ambassador to Jazz at Lincoln Center” by Wynton Marsalis, Cleveland-native trumpeter and international jazz sensation, Dominick Farinacci, returned to NE Ohio with his quintet to a packed house for two shows at BLU Jazz+!
Dominick’s all-star band featured some of the most talented and accomplished musicians in jazz today – Richard Johnson (piano), Barry Stephenson (bass), Lawrence Leathers (drums), Jamey Haddad (percussion) & special guest, Gregory Generet (vocals). The energy in the room was palpable and the band commanded the attention of the audience through their beautiful ensemble playing and dynamic stage presence. The show also marked our first-ever livestream broadcast at BLU Jazz+ via Periscope!
Before entertaining our audience in Akron, the quintet performed the night before at the renowned Tri-C JazzFest along with Take 6 and the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra. These back-to-back performances in Cleveland & Akron marked the first time Dominick had performed live for his Ohio fans in quite some time since assuming his ambassador role at Jazz at Lincoln Center Doha. The band even came back to BLU the next night and sat in at our Late Night Jazz Jam!
We look forward to bringing this amazing group back to BLU in the future – enjoy the photos!
